Governor Corzine to Keynote NJEF Conference

x

Dear Friends & Supporters of NJEF,

Political and environmental leaders from across New Jersey will be gathering at the NJ Environmental Federation's 21st annual conference, Winds of Change, on Saturday April 14th from 8 am to 5 pm at Rutgers University School of Law, 123 Washington Street, Newark, NJ.

Our conference is part of the largest day of action on climate change in the history of the U.S. Thanks to the folks at Step It Up 2007, there are now over 1,000 actions planned in all 50 states on April 14th!

New Jersey is facing dramatic challenges and changes that will affect the way we use and receive energy, the future of our cities and the pollution burdens in our neighborhoods and children. Our conference seeks to open discussion on these issues with an eye towards positive actions and resolutions.

  • Governor Jon Corzine (confirmed) will be our keynote speaker with Q&A.
  • Urban Panel on Environmental Justice: confirmed speakers include NJDEP Commissioner Lisa Jackson, Assemblyman William Payne, Mayor Cory Booker of Newark, and Mayor Wayne Smith of Irvington.

  • Dr. George Lambert, M.D. (confirmed), Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Director, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Division of Pediatric Pharmacology & Toxicology, will present a workshop on the effects of environmental pollution on children's health.
